This Year's Model Updates:

Based on the A6 platform, the height-adjustable allroad debuts this year to fill a slot left in Audi's lineup by the lack of an SUV. This luxury-station-wagon-turned-SUV is powered by the A6's 250-horsepower 2.7-liter V6 engine and features Audi's legendary quattro all-wheel-drive system. Audi blends these features in a distinctive vehicle that can handle a wide range of transportation needs.

Pros:
  • Elegant styling, sumptuous interior, height-adjustable suspension, extensive safety features, lively V6 engine.
Cons:
  • Steep price tag, lack of a V8 engine, no transfer case for more adventurous off-roaders.

  • Fabulous car! - 2001 Audi Allroad Quattro

This is one amazing automobile! It is fun to drive, corners as well as our Mercedes but has many more creature comforts. Even with a bit of turbo lag time, this car can beat anyone out of a stop signal. On a highway, the ride is peppy, and very comfortable. The car is a rocket going up a steep hill. Its just a kick to drive!

Bought car used while still under Audi warranty. 110,000 miles on the car now, and no squeaks or rattles. The car isnt as reliable as older Audis Ive owned, but more reliable than some cars. Wears tires quickly (a trait of AWD cars) but fat, sticky rubber isnt supposed to last. It is a car that looks like it belongs in a most affluent customers driveway. Positive comments from everyone from airport valet to Samoan tuner/racers to a Porsche racing equipment vendor. It isnt an economy car, but will comfortably run rings around "sport" SUVs while getting far better mileage than they will. The Swiss Army knife of cars.

  • No need for SUV... - 2001 Audi Allroad Quattro

I bought this car in in 2001... fully loaded with 6 speed manual. I had very little bugs with it, the only thing I replaced was the bushing for the front seat... After 40k miles the car runs as smooth and as fast as the day I bought it. I chipped the car and it produces 310 HP and really dont have any turbo lag... the engine feels like a 4.2 V8 without the weight. I will keep this car for another 5 years, its just that good!! Hope you will have the chance to enjoy this car... Good driving....

The best of all worlds: sports wagon performance and handling, plus the ability to do all the back road and off-road driving I will ever need. Quiet, effortless cruiser at 90mph. Manual transmission makes car much more lively than autobox. Shifter is notchy when new, loosens up nicely by 10,000 miles. We always run the car in the lowest position for paved road driving: firmer ride and much better handling.

  • WOW Allroad - 2001 Audi Allroad Quattro

Wow what an amazing car! My Allroad has brought me only good things. Its power looks and (hustler) biturbo just makes me smile. I think no other car ive owned (ML430,Acura MDX-never buy and Lexus RX300 has made me happier. It handles like a charm, looks like a doll and out runs most sports cars, with help from my Audi tunning chip(300hp+. I strongly reccomend this car to everyone!

I have never owned a car that was as much fun the first day as it is today! Pure enjoyment from almost every aspect, except the small pre-turbo lag - what a gas this car is. But speaking of Gas, please make sure you have plenty of cash with you at all times. Mileage is not the best, really its not good at all! From day one everyone has been interested in what the car is and does, I am super happy with my Allroad!

16000 miles & no problems. Turbo lag no problem, can be easily overcome. Fun car to drive, still turns heads.

I dont think I would go back to driving a SUV after buying the versatile wagon.

  • Love it with a couple reservations - 2001 Audi Allroad Quattro

This has been a great family car!!!!! My husband is European and likes a car that he can really "drive". This works for us, and yes, we text drove everything out there. He drives it with the tiptronic and it gets a bit better gas milage. It is comfortable for long drives, has been steady when driving on flooded and windy roads; and still turns heads in the preschool parking lot. An unexpected benifit of raising the car has been less bending needed when taking the children out of the car!
